Plans are made by the Delhi government to privatise the water distribution system. With the introduction of the new move, there are possibilities that the rates of water might increase and the people in Delhi, who are already burdened by the hike in the power tariffs might have to face more grievances.

The chief minister has been initiating the reforms in the private sector while arguing that the private entities might help in the improvement in the distribution of water. It was also argued that the people must be made to pay for every drop so that they come to know the value of water. The reforms have been initiated last year by opening doors for private entities in management and maintenance.
