Indian telecommunications company MTS India on July 4, 2012 announced a new scheme under which the subscribers can make roaming, STD and even ISD calls at flat 30 paise per minute. Even an SMS and data usage will cost 30 paise.
Leonid Musatov, the MTS India chief marketing and sales officer in a statement said, “Under this distinctive and unmatched plan, MTS will provide all services, including local, STD, roaming and ISD calls, SMS and Data usage at flat 30 paisa”. The new scheme has been announced for the new as well as the existing subscribers.
At present the company has 16 million users and the new offer can be availed through a recharge coupon priced between ₹50 to ₹100. The MTS subscribers when on roaming can make calls at 30 paise per minute to anywhere in the country.
In terms of the ISD calls, the rate of 30 paise per minute is applicable only for the calls made to the United States and Canada with a cap of 100 minute per month. Standard rates will be charged to the subscribers by the company after the usage limit is over. The telecom company has also announced free access to Facebook or a month through MTS Planet on the entry level phones.
