Auto giant Renault India has on July 10, 2012 has launched its Duster for the Kerala market. Apart from the launch the company also announced its plans to sell 30,000 cars in the country in the year 2012.
Renault revealed that it plans to bring its smaller cars for the Indian market costing below ₹4.5 lakh. Marc Nassif the managing director of Renault India said, “Last year, 1,500 cars were sold in the country. This year the company is aiming at selling at least 30,000 units”.
Nassif added, ‘We have plans to bring in smaller cars to India costing below Rs 4.5 lakh. We are working on a more compact platform, we are working fast track on going to smaller cars’. But the managing director denied to comment on when the cars would be launched.
It was further revealed that apart from India the company will also be targeting the markets like Brazil and Russia. India for all the auto makers is one of the most lucrative market, where the demand for hatchbacks and small cars is growing everyday. Talking about the Duster, it has all the features of a premium vehicle and will be offered at an introductory price of ₹7.19 lakh entry price, while the diesel version will cost at ₹7.99 lakh.
