In order to promote tourism in the state, Kerala Tourism has launched mobile apps for iOS and Android along with the WAP site for feature phones. The mobile apps will have all the information that a tourist will need while visiting Kerala.
Along with the WAP (mobile site), the department will also be installing Bluetooth Kiosks, which will provide real-time information to the tourists landing in Kerala. The Kiosks will be made at the key places like the international airports.
The application in the mobile will help the tourists identify the current location of the user and guide them about the nearby attractions. The app also has certain features like ‘places of interest’ and ‘tourist guide’, which will help the tourists identify interesting travelling spots within the state.
The users can also use the tour planner, based on the timings, interests and location. The tourism minister of Kerala, A P Anil Kumar while launching the app expressed that he hopes that the state would emerge as a destination more sought than before as the traveller can have all the information in their finger tips. The website can also be available for those who cannot install the app. The Apps and WAP sites will get constant updates in line with the information on the tourism website and events.
