The monsoon has finally arrived all over India, but still is deficit by 23% as the situation in Maharashtra and Karnataka is still worrisome. A meeting was held with Agriculture Minister Sharad Powar with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) director general L S Rathore and food minister K V Thomas.
The meeting was held to discuss the monsoon situation. Rathore said that the rainfall situation has improved but it is still minus 23 percent. The monsoon has now covered almost the entire country with Gujarat and Rajasthan receiving heavy rains. It is only the states of Karnataka and Maharashtra who has till now received scanty rains so far.
