Tata Group chairman Ratan Tata said that the British subsidiary of Tata, Jaguar Land Rover would be launching a number of fuel efficient sports car in the next two years. Tata, in the Annual report of 2011-12 said that the Jaguar Land Rover was developing higher powered and more fuel efficient engines to attract more customers.

Tata added, “The company has undertaken its most ambitious product development programme in its history and will be launching several new sports sedans and sports cars in the next two years in order to provide dealers with a more competitive and wider product range”. The Group chairman also assured that the company is also planning face-lifts and new models of Range Rover along with the competitively priced new line of rugged lifestyle vehicles under the Land Rover brand.

But not many details were shared by Tata like how many new models will be launched or how many will be under each of the two brands Jaguar and Land Rover. Jaguar Land Rover had earlier announced to roll out 40 new products in the upcoming four to five years.

At present the company is considering to set up a new manufacturing facilities in China to meet market demand for the two luxury brands in the region.
