Henkel India on July 13, 2012 said that it has received the permission from its shareholders to change its name to Jyothy Consumer Products Ltd. The name will be changed after its merger with Jyothy Laboratories Ltd.
With the help of a postal ballot, the shareholders of the company have overwhelmingly passed a special resolution for changing the name of the company from Henkel India Ltd to Jyothy Consumer Products Ltd. Of the total number of votes polled, 99.93% votes were in favour of the resolution while , 0.07 percent were against the resolution. The results of the ballot were declared on July 11, 2012. The board of directors of the company had already approved the amalgamation.
