Indian auto giant Maruti Suzuki is now looking forward to the rural market to boost its sales. The company also expects the rural market to contribute about half of its sales by 2015-16.
In the last few months the company has opened about 23 new retail outlets in towns and villages. The move has been taken so as to deal with the slow sales. The sales of the company in the rural area has witnessed a continuous growth and last month it received a huge boost with 55% growth in sales. The small cars have been popular in the Indian rural market and the company competes with Tata’s Nano in terms of small car segment.
