Tremors were felt at the regions of Hindukush Mountain Range in Afghanistan on July 19, 2012. Reports said that an earthquake measuring 5.7 on the Richter scale hit in the region. Some mild tremors were also felt in the Jammu and Kashmir region.
For the second time a moderate earthquake has hit the Hindukush region in less than a week. However, no major damages and casualties have been reported so far. On July 12, 2012 an earthquake with a magnitude of 6.3 hit in Afghanistan, with its epicentre in the Hindukush region. The earthquake had also shook the northern parts of the country including Kashmir Valley and caused panic among the residents.
