Indian cricketer Rahul Sharma, after facing detainment from a rave party in Mumbai in the month of May, has tested positive for drugs. The last batch of the medical reports was received b y the police on July 20, 2012.

Vishwas Nangre Patil, the Mumbai Additional Commissioner of Police said, “A total of 90 persons were detained by us during the raid. We had received the report on 46 persons and a report on the remaining 44 persons was received today. Of the 90, 86 have tested positive while two males and two females have tested negative”. Rahul is accompanying the Indian team for the limited overs tour in Sri Lanka while Wayne Parnell, who was also detained from the rave party is in South Africa.

Out of the 90 people who were detained, 38 were women and 52 were men. While talking about those who tested positive, the police said that 42 tested positive and three tested for cocaine and cannabis, 35 tested for only cannabis and four tested positive for cannabis and MDMA.

A police official said, “Eighteen have tested positive for alcohol”. All thoe who are tested positive for drugs will be charged under section 27 of the Narcotic drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act for consumption of drugs.
