Chinese electronic manufacturer, Huawei is planning to launch its LTE smartphones and tablets in India. The company aims at becoming the third largest hand set brand in the country.
The LTE range of smartphones and tablets will be launched by the month of December this year. The company will be launching, Ascend D LTE and Ascend P1 LTE smartphone and Huawei Mediapad 10 LTE in India.
P Sanjeev the director of sales and Huawei India while talking about the development said, “We plan to launch smartphones and tablets with LTE network support by December. However, the plan will depend on the 4G operators plans including the network rollout and willingness to offer smartphones and tablets using that network”.
Sanjeev added, “Huawei already has LTE products with Ascend P1 LTE and Ascend D LTE in smartphone category and Mediapad 10 LTE in tablet category, these will have a version with support of TD LTE which is the network that is being rolled out in India”. The Ascend D LTE and Media Pad 10 LTE will be based on the quad core processor from Huawei, while the Ascend P1 LTE will have a cheaper dual core processor. The company is yet to announce the pricing for the devices as it will depend on the operators who will be offering them.
