A statement from the government said that the cabinet on August 3, 2012 gave a formal go-ahead to the Indian carrier Air India to begin taking deliveries of the 27 Boeing Dreamliners. Till now the government has not approved a compensation package agreed between Air India and Boeing.
A group off officials will take a call on the matter at a later date, the statement said. The deliveries of the 787 Dreamliners were caught in trouble between the planemaker and India. The problems was over the compensation to the carrier. The company had delayed the delivery of the aircrafts by four years, after which the carrier is deciding on the compensation to be claimed from the plane manufacturer.
