Software manufacturing giant Microsoft has announced the availability of Kinect for Windows sensor and Software Development Kit in India. The Kinect is a motion sensing input device by Microsoft for the Xbox 360 video game console and Windows PCs.
The device is based on the web-cam style add-on peripheral, which enables the users to control and interact with the Xbox 360 or the PC without the need for a traditional input device through a natural user interface using gestures and spoken commands.
The developers can take advantage of the features like improved skeletal tracking, enhanced speech, face tracking and seated mode tracking. The launch in India is seen as an opportunity for the developers to explore and tinker with its new technology to find out what it can do and push the limits of what is possible.
