Indian carrier Jet Airways along with HDFC bank on August 7, 2012 launched a co-branded credit card. The new co-branded credit card offers a slew of benefits and rewards to frequent flyers of the country’s largest airline.

The fresh alliance with the second largest private bank with the airlines has come after the 12 year association with the co-branded credit card with the foreign lender City cane to an end in the month of May. Nikos Kardadassis a Jet Airways Chief Executive said, “The tie-up with HDFC Bank – the first its kind for the bank since it entered the cards space a decade ago – is unique travel option aimed at making air travel more cost- effective. These co-branded cards will mutually work towards strengthening customer relationship and is a win-win for JetPrivilege members, HDFC Bank customers and our mutual guests”.

The airline under its loyality programme JetPrivilege has about 2.8 million members which is the largest under such a scheme in the country. On the other hand HDFC bank is a market leader the credit card space with one-third of the nearly 20 million cards in circulation bearing in its name.

However, the partners have clarified that their agreement is not exclusive and both are open to similar tie-ups with other entities also.
