Luxury car making giant Mercedes Benz has on August 8, 2012 launched the diesel version of its R350 in the Indian market. The company has launched the vehicle in the Indian market looking at the obsession of the buyers for diesel vehicles.
The new diesel R350 has been priced at Rs. 58.9 lakh ex-showroom price Delhi. The petrol version of the car was launched in the year 2010 in the Indian market which was priced at Rs. 58.7 lakh ex-showroom price Delhi.
Debashish Mitra, the director-sales and marketing of Mercedes Benz while speaking at the launch said, “We are sure that the diesel variant of this crossover model will be an attractive proposition for our valuable customers”. The R350 diesel vehicle has been powered by a 2,987 cc diesel engine and delivers a fuel economy of 11.25 kms per litre.
Along with a powerful engine, it is coupled with a four wheel drive transmission and a seating capacity of seven adults. The new R350 also has a considerable luggage space of 633 to 2385 litres. Meanwhile Mercedes Benz is trying hard to regain their top position in the Indian market. In terms of luxury vehicles the top position was snatched by BMW India about three years back.
