Computer manufacturing giant HCL has on August 14, 2012 launched its 3G enabled tablet HCL ME Y2 in the Indian market. This is the third generation tablet for HCL and competes with the other 3G enabled budget ICS tablets in the Indian market.
The HCL ME Y2 device offers 3G connectivity with an in-built SIM card slot and has been priced at Rs. 14,999. The device runs on the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system with a 2 megapixel rear camera and a 0.3 mega pixel front camera for video chatting.
The tablet has a 7 inch multi touch capacitive screen with a 1 Ghz Cortex A9 processor, 1 GB RAM, 8 GB inbuilt storage along with memory card slot which can be expandable up to 32 GB. The HCL Y2 also has a mini USB, mini HDMI and a micro SD card slot.
The Y2 device is also has Bluetooth connectivity along with Wi Fi. The Y2 also comes with a bunch of apps like Hungama App which is free for three months subscription to download or play unlimited music, videos and ringtones. The device might even be supported by an integrated back up service HCL touch and a 24 X 7 one touch service facility.
