The government of Delhi has decided to hike the parking rates. The government said that it did not have any other alternative than to increase the fess significantly to control the increasing vehicular population.
A high level of meeting was presided over by the Lt Governor Tejendra Khanna. A top official from the Delhi government said that at present 11 percent of the total area in the city is being used for parking. The government is considering a hefty price hike in the surface parking as people are not using the multi-level parking. People are not using the multi-level parking all due to the cost factor.
