In some great news for the followers of the Xperia Ion buyers, the device has been officially launched in India. The Xperia Ion has been launched by Sony Mobile in India at the price of Rs. 36,999.
The Xperia Ion smartphone is based on the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich Operating System and has been powered by a 1.5 Ghz dual Core Qual Comm processor. The features of the smartphone include 4.6 inch TFT touchscreen with 1280 X 720 pixels resolution, 1 GB RAM, 12.1 mega pixel rear camera with LED flash.
The Ion smartphone also has a 1.3 mega pixel front camera and boasts a larger battery at 1,900 mAh with 12 hours of music playback, 10 hours of talk time and 400 hours of standby time. The device also has 16 GB of built-in storage, micro SD slot which supports up to 32 GB storage, Wi Fi, HDMI, USB 2.0, Bluetooth and NFC.
The other basic features of the smartphone include FM radio with RDS, multiple format support for audio and video, 3D and motion gaming (Playstation certified). The device is also preloaded with Google Voice search, Google Talk with video chat, Google Mail, Google Calendar and Facebook and Twitter apps. The Xperia Ion is available in black and red colours.
