The popularity of the utility segment in the Indian market is getting hotter day by day. Of late the utility segment is becoming stronger due to the companies offering efficient diesel engines options like Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and Mahindra Xylo.

Even the other companies like Mahindra and Nissan will soon be launching its Quanto (mini Xylo) and Evalia respectively. Now that all the car makers are launching their vehicles in the budding segment, Hyundai too is planning to launch its vehicles in the segment and will be based on an all new platform.

Hyundai will be launching a new vehicle in the utility segment which will be specifically designed to suit the Indian market. At present the company is working on developing a new platform.

Hyundai is busy deciding on the segment but has not yet decided if it wants to develop a Rs. sub 10 lakh MPV or an SUV. But the company earlier has already showcased the Hexa Space at the 2012 Auto Expo, there are chance that Hyundai might come up with a new MPV to challenge the other vehicles in the market like Ertiga and mini Xylo. The Indian market is considered as one of the most lucrative markets in the world for the auto sector.
