The government of India now aims that every Indian family should have at least one members in the family who is digitally literate. Sachin Pilot, the Union Minister of State for IT and Communications as said that this is a panel discussion at the Digital Literacy Conclave organized by Hindustan Times.

The minister has also said that the government has already planned to connect 250,000 gram panchayats through a fibreoptic network which would increase the broadband connectivity. Pilot also said that as a first step to attain this objective the pilot project been initiated in which Bharat Broadband Network BBNL will lay down 500,000 km of fibreoptic cables in Tripura, Vizag and Ajmer.
