Bollywood has lost the veteran actor AK Hangal, who was known for doing senior roles. The actor was bid adieu at 1 pm at the Pawan Hans crematorium in Vile Parle but none of the big stars of the industry were seen at the last rites ceremony.

The only character artists who were seen at the funeral were Raza Murad, Ila Arun, Avatar Gill and Rakesh Bedi. Murad while expressing his anger said that none of the big stars tuned up to pay respects to the man who gave 50 years of his life to the industry.

The actor added that the busy stars could at least spared some 50 minutes of their time to pay their last respects and that the crematorium was not so far from their bungalows. Many cops were deployed as a huge crowd was expected to turn up.

Murad said that it was a cruel world and that the stars did not consider this departed soul important enough to be given an honourable send off. On September 1, 2012 the communist party of India will hold a prayer meeting for Hangal. On August 27, 2012 the IPTA has arranged for a special meeting at Prithvi theatre to celebrate the life of the veteran actor.
