The Indian under -19 cricket team for the third time won the World Cup final on August 26, 2012. The team under the captainship of Unmukt Chand managed to beat the Australians at Townsville.

The Indians conquered the game with six wickets while the captain single-handedly demolished the confidence of the defending champions Australia who missed a few chances on the encounter. Before the final Chand had score 135 runs from is five outings in the tournament with 78 against Zimbabwe being the best.

The experts have already begun comparing his leadership skills to that of Virat Kohli under whose captaincy India won the Under 19 World Cup 2008 when they beat South Africa in the finals by 56 runs. In the next few years the right handed is expected to play for the National team.

Apart from the captain, the other players like Baba Aparajith, Smit Patel, Harmeet Singh, Sandeep Sharma and Ravikanth Singh have also contributed to the win of the match against the Australians at Townsville. After the win of the Indian under 19 cricketers in the World Cup final, many of the brands and the management firms are rushing to catch the talented teens to rope them as their brand ambassadors. The captain Chand is specially being closely watched.
