Indian auto giant Mahindra and Mahindra is all set to roll out its electric car NXR by September end. The company is eyeing on the European market and ha also inaugurated a manufacturing facility in Bangalore.

Anand Mahindra, the Chairman and Managing Director of Mahindra Group said, “We Will be launching the cat by next month end and hopefully it will be on the roads by Diwali.” Mahindra while inaugurating the plant said that the electric cars are very potent weapon for the global ambitions.

Mahindra added, “We firmly believe that the automobile industry is at an inflection point that will reshape the way we own and use mobility solutions. This change is being driven by rapidly changing customer needs and dramatic advancements in automotive technology”. But the chairman declined the reveal the pricing of the vehicle.

Reports say that the new unit has the capacity to produce 30,000 vehicles a year. The company is expecting to touch its full capacity within three years. At present Mahindra and Mahindra is planning to start with the production of 6,000 vehicles. Chetan Maini, the chief of technology and strategy at the company said, “We are working with the Central Government on how to incentivise the electric cars.” At present the company exports the Reva model to many countries including some in Europe.
