Internet shopping giant Amazon Inc. is now all set to take out its next weapon in the lucrative tablet market. On September 6, 2012 the internet retailing giant might launch a new tablet to compete against the Apple and Samsung devices in the market.
Amazon is expected to unveil at least one new version of its 7 inch Kindle Fire at a press conference near Los Angeles. There are also chances that the company might come up with a larger tablet along with an update of the company’s popular Kindle e-reader.
So Young Lee an analyst at Sun Trust Robinson Humphrey said, “The swing factor in the expectation on the upcoming Kindle Fire could be on how much lower pricing can go”. Reports say that the online retailer wants to make little or no money by selling as many as the tablets and e-readers.
The company just intends to get the devices in as many hands as possible. It then intends to sell high margin digital content like the e-books, games, videos, apps and music to get a more connected and engaged customer base. It is clear that Amazon is in clear fight with Apple Inc, Google Inc and other technology giants in order to get a foothold in the tech market.
