Indian auto giant Maruti Suzuki in order to clear the pending orders of more than 65,000 units of the new Dzire has on September 6, 2012 said that it has started manufacturing the popular compact sedan at the Gurgaon plant. The company also said that it will be rolling it out from the troubled Manesar plant.
While Maruti Suzuki recovers from the impact of the violence hit at the Manesar plant, the company said that it is looking forward to a ten percent increase in the overall production this financial year. A Maitra, the MI chief operating officer on the sidelines of the annual convention of Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers said, “Now the Gurgaon plant has also started manufacturing the new Dzire after the lockout at the Manesar plant was lifted”.
Maitra added, “We are doing this because we have a big backlog and a long waiting list. We want to clear it”. Maruti Suzuki is currently facing 65,000 pending orders for the new Dzire and the waiting period is of about 4-5 months.
The Swift Dzire is one of the popular models of the company but Maruti Suzuki has been unable to meet the demand after the production was affected at the Manesar plant in the month of July.
