Auto manufacturer Renault India has launched its sedan ‘Scala’ in both petrol as well as diesel versions for the Indian market. The new Scala has been prices at Rs 6.99 lakh and Rs. 9.57 lakh.

The new sedan from Renault has been equipped with a 1.5 litre engine and diesel engines and has a 5 speed manual transmission. The new Scala has 80 to 85 percent local content in parts. Renault has already launched its small car Pulse, premium sedan Fluence and sport utility vehicles Koleos and Duster.

Marc Nassif the MD of Renault India while talking to the reporters said, “With the launch of Scala, Renault India has fulfilled its promise to launch 5 products in less than 18 months and to open a pan India network of 100 dealerships by the end of 2012”. While talking about the overall sales of the company Nassif revealed that this year they expect to sell 30,000 -35,000 units and in the year 2013 they will try to sell one lakh units.

The MD also revealed that the company will start the export of Duster to the UK by the end of this year. Renault India will not be launching any new car in the upcoming year but will only refresh and add new variants to the existing models.
