A protest was held in Jerusalem, by a group of survivors from the Hiroshima atomic bomb attack. The protests were held calling for an end to the nuclear weapons. The group had visited the holy sites of Jerusalem on September 10, 2012 and held the signs which read “Nuclear Abolition” in Japanese.
The visit of the protestors had come after the increasing tensions between Israel and Iran over the Islamic Republic’s nuclear program. Israel and much of the West believe that Iran is seeking nuclear weapons, which is a charge that Tehran denies. In the year 1945 the United States had dropped an atomic bomb on the city of Hiroshima which lead to Japan’s surrender and the end of World War II.
