Luxury car maker Mercedez Benz will be officially be officially launching its all new 2012 Mercedes Benz B Class in the Indian market on September 18, 2012. The vehicle was first unveiled in the month of July 2012 at the Buddh International Circuit and a day later at the Mumbai’s Hard Rock Cafe.
Mercedes describes the B Class as a compact sports tourer which is a big hatchback with decent space and ground clearance. Initially, the vehicle will be imported in India as a CBU but later it will be assembled in the country from 2013.
For now the company will be offering only the petrol version of the B class in the country, while the diesel version of the vehicle will also be introduced in the upcoming months. The German auto maker is at present struggling in terms of position in the market.
The company is facing tough competition from the other auto majors like BMW and Audi who have introduced their Audi Q3 and BMW X1. But now the Mercedes B class is not a compact crossover and will not be competing with the German rivals on the form factor. The upcoming models is gain popularity and is expected to be priced in the range of Rs.25 lakhs for the Indian market.
