The health ministry on September 23, 2012 ordered to close a store which sold bento (boxed lunches). The store was ordered to be closed for five days after 44 people suffered food poisoning last week in Kishiwada, Osaka Prefecture.

The officials of the health department in Osaka said that 44 people complained of diarrhoea and other food poisoning symptoms after buying boxed lunches from Takumi store on September 15 and 16. The store said that it sold 300 boxed lunches during the two day period. The store will be closed until September 27 while the health officials determine the source of the food poisoning.
