US tech giant Apple is yet to announce the official launch date of the newest Apple iPhone 5 for the Indian market. But that does not mean that the Indian customers cannot get their hands on it. But the iPhone 5 will be extremely expensive for the Indian users. The Reports say that the 16 GB version of the phone costs Rs. 76,000, the 32 GB version costs Rs. 85,000 and the 64 GB version costs a whopping Rs. 1,00,000. To put it more precise, the phone costs more than the 11 inch version of Apple’s Macbook Air.
Some of the media reports say that the iPhone 5 is already doing a brisk trade in the grey markets. One of the traders in the upscale market of Delhi on the condition of anonymity said that the first lot of the iPhone 5 was sold for Rs, 1.35 lakh a few days back.
An official launch date for the Indian market is yet to be announced but it is expected that the smartphone will be in the country before the Diwali shopping season begins.
