Asian air travelers are set for a treat, with two major low cost flight carriers offering additional flights and discounts for their passengers. VietJetAir announced yesterday that the low cost carrier will be opening new domestic routes to meet the demand of its ever increasing domestic and international passengers, whereas Cathay Pacific Airway will be running two additional return flights between HCM City and Hong Kong from October 31, 2012.

VietJetAir are set to launch the following new routes, along with increased frequency on some domestic routes:
November 22 : HCM City – Hue
November 15 : HCM City – Vinh
December 20 : HCM City – Phu
December 7 : Ha Noi – Da

Cathay Pacific, based in Hong Kong, is set to launch fights departing from HCM City on Thursdays and Saturdays and flying to Hong Kong and back, starting October 31st.

Apart from the new flights, both airlines have planned discounts for their future passengers, with VietJetAir introducing promotions such as selling 100,000 tickets for VND 10,000 i.e. US $0.47, this promotion is valid from October 2012 to 2013.

Cathay Pacific on the other hand has signed a deal with HSBC yesterday to allow customers paying with HSBC credit cards to avail of discounts on flights between Viet Nam to London, Seoul, Paris, Sydney, Melbourne and Pusan. To avail this offer, patrons would need to book between October 2, 2012 and October 30, 2012 with their HSBC Credit cards; and fly between November 1, 2012 and May 30, 2013.
