Indian Direct to Home service has recently announced a new package for consumers in the four metro cities, Chennai, Mumbai, Kolkata and Delhi. The new package will offer subscribers a basic channel tier which comprises of 70 channels, free of cost for life.
The Telecom Regulatory Authority in India mentioned that all cable MSO’s are currently offering the basic tier of channels for Rs. 100 per month. The new scheme will be available only for the new subscribers of Dish TV, but the company indicated that it will soon be announcing something for the existing Dish TV users also. The users will also have to recharge their set top boxes every six months.
