Arvind Kejriwal, the ‘India Against Corruption’ activist is set to continue his fight against corruption by producing fresh evidence against Law Minister Salman Khurshid on October 15, 2012. Kejriwal has accused the Indian law minister of forgery and misuse of funds through an NGO, with which Khurshid and his wife are associated.
On October 14, 2102 Kejriwal said, “We will produce fresh evidence against Salman Khurshid at 11am on Monday”. Khurshid produced a few documents and pictures to prove that there were discrepancies in funds used for certain ‘camps for the disabled’ held in the state of Uttar Pradesh.
Khurshid had denied all the allegations made by Kejriwal, while the activist dismissed the law minster’s defense. Kejriwal also claimed that till Khurshid remains a law minister, he can destroy all evidence against himself, and that no fair inquiry is going to be held. Arvind also questioned why the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh is silent over the issue.
Khurshid, while addressing a crowd at a press conference at his residence revealed documents and pictures which showed that camps were in fact held in UP to provide hearing aids and tricycles to the disabled. The law minister also said that he will meet the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to share his experiences.
