Computer manufacturing giant Asus, is all set to host combined events in Milan and Taipei on October 16, 2012. The company will be unveiling its smartphone-cum-tablet known as the ‘PadFone 2’, the images of which have been leaked on the internet.

The new smartphone-cum-tablet by Asus will have a 4.7 inch HD resolution display with a 13 mega pixel camera, as compared to the 8 megapixel camera in the original PadFone. The PadFone is available in the Indian market and has been priced at Rs. 64,999. As per our sources, the company is looking forward to improving the docking mechanism of its device with the new release.

The new device from Asus is expected to be slimmer and lighter, with a sliding docking station cover, as opposed to a door-opening flip cover. Not many details of the new PadFone 2 have been revealed as yet.

According to speculations, the 13 mega pixel camera will come with auto focus and LED flash and zero shutter lag. It is also expected to have 1080p HD video recording and a 1.2 mega pixel front camera. The other specifications include a 1.5 Ghz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro-quad core processor, 2 GB RAM, LTE and HSPA support and 4.7 inch Super IPS HD display.

With the new device, ASUS is set to raise the bar in terms of dual-capability devices with other brands sure to follow suite.
