San Francisco based clothing retailer Gap, has started selling its products through its online store in Japan. The company said that its customers in Japan can now shop for Gap as well as Banana Republic products online through its Japanese sites gap.co.jp and bananarepublic.co.jp.

The e-commerce sites offer products from Gap, Gap Kids, baby Gap and Banana Republic. Robert Frank, the managing director of Gap Japan said, “We’re excited to continue Gap’s global online expansion and extend our exceptional online experience to our customers in Japan”.

Frank added that the launch of the e-commerce site has reaffirmed the company’s  commitment to provide their signature American style to people in the most convenient way possible. Some of the major features of Gap’s e-commerce sites include the innovative ‘Universality’ platform, which brings brands such as Gap and Banana Republic together on one easily navigated platform.

Customers can also seamlessly shop for products of Gap and Banana Republic with one shopping basket and one checkout. Moreover, since it is an online shop, the store is open 24 hours a day and seven days a week, due to which the customers can shop according to their convenience. The e-commerce site also offers free shipping on every purchase of 6,000 Yen or more.
