US computing giant Apple, has finally launched its much awaited iPad Mini at the October 23 event, for which it had earlier sent out invitations. Although the device unveiling was expected, what took people by surprise was the pricing of the new device,  which is $329 for the 16 GB Wi Fi only version. While the version which has cellular connectivity will start at $429 for the 16 GB, which makes it quite an expensive deal as compared to earlier expectations.

Apple, on the other hand said that this is their lowest cost for an iPad ever. The new device from Apple will begin shipping from November 2, 2012. The latest iPad will be available in many countries but India is not yet on the list.

The new iPad Mini has been powered by an A5 chip and has a FaceTime camera with HD, 5 mega pixel camera, 4G LTE and faster Wi Fi. The company has also assured that the new iPad Mini is better than the iPad 2.

The new device has a resolution of 1024 X 768 and is extremely thin. It has a screen size of 7.9 inches which makes it bigger than the Nexus 7. Tim Cook said that they have sold more than 100 million iPads over a period of two and a half years and sold more iPads than the PC makers have sold PC’s in recent years.
