Indian auto giant Bajaj Auto, is all set to unveil its most advanced and expensive 100 cc bike in the month of January, 2013. K Srinivas, the president of Bajaj Auto said that apart from being the most expensive motorcycle in the 100 cc segment, it will also be the most technologically advanced.

Srinivas did not reveal the bike’s price tag saying that the price of the bike is not as important as its technology, which has to be highlighted. At present Bajaj Auto sells 100 cc bikes Platina and Discover, which are priced between Rs. 38,990 and Rs. 44, 497.

The company claimed that its Discover model was overtaken by Splendor of Hero MotoCorp in the month of September as the world’s largest selling motorcycle, in terms of sales. The Discover sold 1.22 lakh units against 1.21 lakh of Splendor.

Srinivas said that the company has registered an increase in terms of growth despite a minus-one percent growth in the market. During the second quarter of the current financial year, the market share of the company stood at 27 percent. The company was also encouraged by the fact that the sales had gone up by six percent in the last seven days due to the festive season.
