The Indian auto market is dominated by diesel powered vehicles as compared to other fuel sources, as a result, the Honda City has the major disadvantage as the company offers only a petrol variant. In order to make progress in the Indian auto industry, Honda has officially announced a CNG ready ‘City’.

The new CNG variant of the sedan can be fitted for the CNG kit from a recommended installer, in order to ensure warranty repairs and replacements. The new variant will have a modified engine and suspension, so as to accommodate the extra weight of the kit, and also the characteristics of the fuel. The CNG ready model will cost Rs. 9.03 lakhs while the actual CNG kit will cost Rs. 50,200 extra, plus installation charges.
