Indian cyber space was hit by a malicious spam through the internet based audio video communicator Skype, according to recent reports. Anti-hacking detectives have warned users to remain alert and cautious. A government advisory to Skype users in the country said that a malicious spam campaign is on the rise and is targeting Skype users by sending instant messages which appears to come from friends in Skype’s contact list.

Cyber security experts found that malware content was lurking in the vicinity of cyber networks of Indian users who use the popular Voice-Over Internet Protocol (VOIP) service. Several Indians use Skype to communicate with their friends, relatives and other contacts all over the world.
