Telecom giant Bharti Airtel announced the launch of a new network experience centre at Manesar on October 31, 2012. The new network experience centre will monitor the company’s various centers across India and South Asia from a single location.
The new centre is an earthquake proof facility, and is the first of its kind in India, and will monitor Airtel’s network performance across service mobile, fixed line and DSL broadband, M-commerce, DTH, internet peering points, enterprise and international cable systems.
Sunil Bharti Mittal, the chairman and managing director of Bharti Airtel said, “This is something which I planned several years back when I saw such buildings in the US. This facility will be the nerve center of our entire network”. Telecom minister Kapil Sibal inaugurated the new facility, and will act as a central point to gather information from different centers run by the company across the country.
At the launch of the new centre, Mittal said that the company will be able to analyse and deliver a seamless experience to more than 200 million customers cross their various verticals, from one single location. However, the chairman refused to divulge any details of the investments made for the facility.
While talking about the facility, Sibal said that he has never seen such a thing before, the minister also said that Mittal is the captain of the Indian telecom sector.
