Computer manufacturer Asus launched its Vivo Tab RT for the Indian market on November 7, 2012. The launch included a Notebook tablet hybrid ‘Taichi’, which runs on the Windows RT OS. The computer manufacturer will also enter the affordable tablet segment, with the launch of a 7 inch tablet in India in the upcoming two months.

Alex Huang, the managing director of the systems business group of Asus India said, “Asus will launch a sub Rs 15,000 Android Jelly Bean based 7 inch tablet for India in January.” Huang added that until now they did not have a tablet to cater to entry level buyers in the country, which is a huge market. However, with the launch of the 7 inch tablet in the month of January, Asus will address this issue.

Meanwhile, the Vivo Tab RT has been priced at Rs. 61,999, while the Taichi has been priced at Rs. 1,39,999. Both devices will be available in the market from December 2012. The Vivo Tab RT features a 10 inch Super IPS + panel with a 178 degree viewing angle.

The device is packed with a quad core Nvidia Tegra 3 mobile processor for ultra fast performance. The tablet also comes with an optional keyboard dock and a built-in battery to provide extended battery life.
