Auto manufacturer Honda said on November 9, 2012 that it is all set to launch its first diesel car in the Indian market. The new diesel vehicle will be an entry-level sedan named ‘Amaze’, which has been developed along the same lines as their other small car ‘Brio’.
Honda cars India said in a statement, “The new entry-level sedan will be called the ‘Amaze’, and will be launched in Thailand and India…The details of the model will be announced later this month in Thailand and in the next financial year, 2013-14, in India”. The new Honda Amaze will be available with both a petrol engine and a newly developed diesel engine. The company went on to state that the vehicle in will be only available in the petrol version in Thailand .
Honda did not share too many details about the vehicle, but said that the models will be introduced at affordable prices and will be realized by increasing cost competitiveness through local sourcing and production. The Amaze will be launched keeping in mind the needs of customers in automobile markets in Asia, where the competition is intensifying.
In closing, the auto manufacturer said that the Amaze offers ‘amazing power with class leading fuel efficiency’.
