For the past few years, China has been facing a diesel fuel shortage very winter. This year however, Shanghai based energy consultant ICIS C1 Energy said that the country will not face any fuel shortage as a result of weak industrial activity and sufficient supply.

The economy has been growing at a slower rate in the past few months as well, which has reduced the demand for the fuel. Diesel is mainly used in transportation and industrial production. In previous years, the government ensured a limit on electricity consumption in industrial manufacturing so as to save energy and also help meet carbon reduction targets. This forced many companies to buy diesel generators to ensure sufficient power supply for production.
