Hong Kong super star Jackie Chan recently said that his upcoming movie ‘Chinese Zodiac 2012’ will be his last major action flick. The actor said that the reason behind the move was that age was catching up with him, but said that he would continue to pack punches in the world of philanthropy.
Chan has written , directed and produced the upcoming flick, which is set to premiere in cinemas in China next month. The action hero plays the lead role in the movie and has regarded this to be the best film he has worked on in the past ten years.
Chan said, “I’m the director, I’m the writer, I’m the producer, I’m the action director, almost everything”. The 58-year-old talked to reporters while he was in Beijing to shoot for a documentary. The actor also said that the movie is like his baby and that he has been writing the script of the film for the last seven years.
Chan will play the role of a treasure hunter in the movie, who is seeking to repatriate the sculpture heads of the 12 animals of the Chinese Zodiac. These sculpture heads were taken from Beijing’s Summer Palace by French and British forces during the Opium Wars.
