The ‘Gangnam Style’ music video by South Korean pop star Psy has become the most watched video of all time on YouTube. The video has registered more than 803 million views, to overtake Canadian teen singer Justin Bieber’s ‘Baby’.
Since the release of the song, the Korean sensation has become popular globally due to the horse riding style of dancing depicted in the video. The song was released in July 2012 and has taken the world by storm ever since.
Earlier this month, the catchy tune managed to leave behind Jennifer Lopez’s popular hit ‘On The Floor’. Jennifer’s song was sitting in second place on the video streaming site at the time. On November 24, 2012, the popular number then overtook Justin Bieber’s worldwide hit. ‘Gangnum Style’ has received 805,055,375 views against 803,732,561 for Justin’s ‘Baby’.
Psy’s song refers to the upmarket neighborhood in Seoul and has topped all music charts from Britain to Australia. It has also been noticed by the US President Barack Obama, as well as UN chief Ban Ki-moon. The song is still showing impressive staying power and is maintaining its strong upward trend for the past four months, ever since it went viral on YouTube. The South Korean singer recently also unveiled plans for his next song, which will be a mix of English and Korean.
