Indian mobile phone manufacturer Lava Mobiles is planning to launch a new and affordable smartphone-cum-tablet for the Indian market. The phablet is expected to be launched in the month of December, 2012.
The upcoming device by Lava is expected to be priced at about Rs. 13,000. The phablet will be launched in the Indian market during the Christmas period this year. The device is said to be named the Lava Xolo A800 and will be based on the Android platform. The device will have better specifications as compared to the earlier launch of the Xolo A700.
The company has not yet shared any specifications or features of the device and Lava’s website has displayed a ‘coming soon’ message. The Xolo A700 was powered with an Intel processor clocked at 1 GHz with a 4.5-inch display.
The news of the device was confirmed by a Lava India spokesperson, who said that the new Xolo A800 will be making its way to the Indian market next month and will also carry an affordable price tag. There are possibilities that the new device might have a faster processor with the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS on it. The device will also feature a 5-inch display screen with HD IPS technology similar to the A 700.
