Canadian-based tablet manufacturer Kobo Inc. which is a subsidiary of Rakuten Inc. has on December 7, 2012 said that it has started the pre-orders of its eReader. The device can be pre-ordered at http://kobo.rakuten.co.jp/ for 6,980 yen.
The company assured that the device will begin shipping on December 18, 2012 and will also be made available at Rakuten Ichiba, Rakuten Books and all the other major home electronics stores. The device is known as the world’s smallest and lightest E Ink eReader available and offers the full Kobo experience at a great value.
The device is very convenient to use, as the 5-inch device fits easily into a purse or pocket and comes packed with great features. Reading on the device is very similar to reading the print on paper and the no-glare screen is also easy on the eyes, even under bright sunlight.
The company is offering the Kobo Mini in black and white colors. The eReader is perfect for use while travelling and is also easy for the first-time readers to hold. The Kobo Mini can hold up to 1,000 eBools at a time. The front-lit Kobo Glo eReader is priced at 7,980 yen (tax included) and the Touch eReader is priced at 6,980 yen (tax included).
