The accused persons in the infamous Delhi gang-rape case, Mukesh, Pawan and Vinay were on December 19, 2012 produced in court, where they confessed to the heinous crime. Out of the accused, Pawan refused to undergo the test identification parade (TIP) and confessed that he was involved in the rape.

On the other hand, Mukesh agreed to go under the TIP to be shown to the friend of the victim, which will take place in Tihar jail. Vinay also reportedly refused to undergo TIP and said that he had assaulted the boy and not the girl. Pawan and Vinay have been put under four-day custody and Mukesh has been sent to Tihar jail, where he will spend 14 days in judicial custody.

Akshay Thakur, who is also one of the accused has been detained in Bihar and will be brought to Delhi. After the incident, several protesters gathered outside Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dixit’s residence on December 19, 2012, to demand immediate action against the accused.

The protesters were then attacked with water canons to calm the situation. It has been three days since the 23-year-old girl was gang-raped in a moving bus in Delhi and is still fighting for her life in Safdarjung hospital. TV reports have said that vital organs of the injured girl have been permanently damaged.
