The Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (Assocham) has noted that the Tata Group is one of India’s best-known global brands. The results of the survey come in just days before the spearhead of the company Ratan Tata will retire. The USD 100 billion company is not only considered to be one of the most popular within the country, but outside its shores as well.

The Assocham survey was conducted across various major cities around the world such as London, Singapore, New York, Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata and many more. Around 78 of the best global CEO’s were questioned, including the top bosses of foreign and domestic companies, all in the first two weeks of December 2012.

The general opinion from the survey results show that around 77 percent of those involved said that Cyrus Mistry will do a good job as Ratan Tata’s successor and that the senior Tata has done a brilliant job of elevating a family-business to the stature of a global conglomerate.

The Tata group deals mostly in steel and automobiles, with telecommunication, chemicals, beverages, hospitality and information technology all turning in as growing fields for the Indian giant.

Jamsetji Tata founded the company in 1868, which eventually led to JRD Tata and Ratan Tata taking it one step further, making the Tata name synonymous with international quality, world-renowned products.
