Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor has said that he is tired of his on-screen image and wants to play darker roles in the future. Ranbir is generally cast in roles that require the boy-next-door look and the actor is tired of playing these characters, according to industry sources.
The ‘Barfi’ actor said that he would like to play a villain in future movies, such as that of ‘Mogambo’, who is the legendary ‘bad guy’ from cult Bollywood classic ‘Mr. India’. The ‘Rockstar’ actor said that he likes the fact that the bad guys are always surrounded by beautiful women, money and various luxuries.
Ranbir went on to say that although the villain does get beaten up by the hero at the end of most movies, it did not bother him too much. The young actor has a few promising films lined up which include ‘Besharam’, ‘Bombay Velvet’ and ‘Yeh Jawani Hai Diwani’ by Abhinav Kashyap, Anurag Kashyap and Ayan Mukherjee respectively.
Most established actors in Bollywood have been taking up projects of late that involve remakes of classic movies. Stars such as Hrithik Roshan, Ajay Devgn, Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar have been making remakes of older Bollywood movies and the 30-year-old Kapoor said that it was not his cup of tea to make such films.
